Directions: Exit 19, Lynn Valley Rd, drive all the way down on the right. 1501 Lynn Valley.
First time driving there, I thought I was lost cause I went past a local shopping area past many banks and hit a residential area. I was just about to turn back when boom there was a RBC that popped up on the right hand side. Very convenient parking as it was in a residential area. A nice small branch, larger than Edgemont. It was good to see Andy (IRP) there and there was a Taiwanese girl there who had the same last name as me. She is elite, as she was among the 700 employees selected to go on a cruise to the Caribbean with the leaders of RBC! Wow! Again at a small branch everyone is wearing different hats filling in needs. Tina filling in as CAO even though she is CSR/AM and Davina filling in the Cash Can. I figured out a way to make booking appointments more efficient. As I didn’t know the AM’s just yet at the new branch, I asked Tina who they were and also the IRP’s if any opportunities came up. I ended up booking two appointments at the end of the day and having the list of names handy was convenient and efficient.I like the layout of the branch somewhat spacious and not claustrophobic compared to Edgemont. There was pretty much only two tellers at a time and one as a ASR. I did my first pin change successfully. Met a Taiwanese customer. I enjoy meeting Taiwanese customers makes me feel like I’m meeting an auntie in Taiwan. Overall, I enjoyed working at Lynn Valley. Everyone was really nice. Wasn’t as hectic as Edgemont or Park Royal but there were some busy times. Had to deal with an angry customer because he was waiting too long. He was disappointed that the people he knew were no longer there and that there were many new faces. I can understand where he’s coming from but then to have someone stay at a branch forever is not realistic.
Park Royal- Yesterday was so cool. One of the customers actually typed out little pieces of paper with his account number asking me to write his balance on there. Then he wanted to make deposits with his personal cheques. When I looked at the cheques they were neatly typed. How were they typed, I asked him. From a typewriter! He also typed in the amount he wanted paid for his bills. Neat eh?
