Another Rough Day

Today things just weren’t going smoothly. Getting cash took a long time, made a couple of mistakes here and there. Drilling going on on top of our branch. Thankfully it ended at noon. Customer traffic has really slowed down a lot which is good.

A bright side of things was I was able to spot a mortgage referral opportunity. I noticed a client was paying a high mortgage payment from TD so I talked to her about it asking her what rate she was getting. The rate seemed high so I told her RBC could possibly match it or even give her a better rate. Would she like to meet with a mortgage specialist and she said yes! The mortgage specialist whom I’ve never worked with was very happy for the referral and will be following up with her. I have very minimal knowledge about mortgages so being able to refer mortgages was really something I didn’t expect.

Regarding to referrals averaging 2 on a good day. I’m starting to see that there are actually customers who want to see an AM right away but it’s difficult to book them in on the same day as most of the AM’s are busy for the day. It’s quite frustrating sometimes and really too bad because there are actually some lost opportunities as some people really need to see someone right away and if we open it up right there on the spot we could generate a lot of new customers that way. There should totally be some on call AM’s available for these situations.
